Causing the Sun to Rise
Kerry attempts to position himself ahead of the curve, then take credit for all that transpires thereafter. Though troop reductions after the elections have been planned for many months, Kerry would have us believe they'll be the result of his own influence and leadership.
Did I just hear that today, Election Day in Iraq, he let slip that should the Democrats win the House, the case has been established for Bush's impeachment? Just joking, he later explained.
Sure, Hanoiboi. Sure.

Newsweek's Bubble
According to advertising revenues and circulation figures, MSM's the one living in the bubble and out of touch with mainstream America.
The MSM's bubble is known as 'inside the Beltway", and left wingers who live there show an elitist contempt for mainstream USA.
Victor Davis Hanson calls this alternate universe in the media and inside the beltway not a bubble but a boil, in National Review, "Lancing the Boil", January 6, 2006:
...For the last three years we have seen a carbuncle swell as the old Vietnam War opposition rematerialized, with Michael Moore, the Hollywood elite, and Cindy Sheehan scaring the daylights out of the Democratic establishment that either pandered to or triangulated around their crazy rhetoric. The size of the Islamicist/Baathist insurrection caught the United States for a time off guard, as was true also of the sudden vehement slurs from our erstwhile allies in Europe, Canada, and Asia. Few anticipated that the turmoil in Iraq would force the Syrians out of Lebanon, the Libyans to give up their WMDs, and the Egyptians to hold elections — and that all the killing, acrimony, and furor over these developments would begin to engulf the Middle East and threaten the old order.
In the face of that growing ulcer of discontent, we quietly kept on killing terrorists, promoting elections in Iraq, pressuring Arab autocracies to democratize, and growing the economy. All that is finally lancing the boil, here and abroad — and what was in there all along is now slowly oozing out, making the cure seem almost as gross as the malady.

Election Day!
Great day for Iraqis.
Good day for Americans. Bad day for Democrats (except Joe Lieberman and a few others).

Talking Democrats: Retreat and Defeat
Watch the video here.
Seems the Dems are feigning shock, which is odd when all the ad does is show them talking.
John at Powerline says it well here and here.

Senator Franken?
From the RadioEqualizer - Brian Maloney:
Newspaper Endorses Al Franken For US Senate
STINKIN' ANNOUNCEMENTS?
Early Franken Endorsement, Armed Forces Radio Pickup
At least one newspaper is so eager to sweep away Republicans, it's already making what seems to be an endorsement, for a 2008 race!

Kerry bogarts the limelight

There's a little kerfuffle inside the Democratic Senate caucus over John Kerry's insistance in being part of the official party response to Bush's hilarious "plan" in Iraq. Reid originally had designated Sen. Jack Reed to provide the official response. Reed did the "prebuttal" yesterday and had a press conference set up for today.
However, John Kerry stomped over Reed by deciding he was going to hold a press conference this morning as well in a naked bid to steal the limelight. Eventually, Reid was forced to combine the two press conferences to try and maintain a unified Senate Democrat response, but Kerry's antics have generated some ill will.
Much ado about nothing? Perhaps. But several DC Democrats I've spoken to today were not happy with Kerry's antics. And given 1) Kerry's continued inability to clearly articulate a coherent position on the war (as Feldman notes), and 2) the fact that Kerry voted for it (while Reed did not), it's not hard to see why.
Kerry Supports the Troops
John Kerry to Bob Schieffer on CBS's Face the Nation last Sunday:
And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not--
And, as James Taranto adds in WSJ's Best of the Web Today:
Terrorizing kids and children and breaking sort of the customs! Didn't "Jenjis Khan" used to do stuff like that in Vietnam? Note, too, that Kerry isn't against this per se; he just thinks Iraqis should be doing it. It's highly reminiscent of Vietnam, only back then Kerry's words carried some weight because he sold himself as a veteran against the war, whereas now he's just the junior senator from Massachusetts.

Imp
As reported today on RushLimabaugh.com:
MEHLMAN: John Kerry was on Face the Nation this past weekend and he talked about American troops terrorizing Iraqi people, going into Iraqis' homes. I thought that was an incredibly irresponsible comment. I thought that Nancy Pelosi's echoing the retreat and defeat strategy that was laid out earlier was also wrong. I think Democrats all around the country need to stand up and be counted.
RUSH: And then in the midst of all this, Wolf Blitzer, after this interview, reported this.
BLITZER: Getting a quick reaction to my interview only within the past few minutes where the chairman of the Republican Party Ken Mehlman who took a strong swipe at John Kerry for comments he made on Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer this Past Sunday. David Wade, a spokesman for John Kerry, just sent us over a statement saying: "Ken Mehlman's filthy and shameful lie about a decorated combat veteran is disgraceful. Political hack Ken Mehlman and draft dodging, doughnut-eating Rush Limbaugh have something in common, neither of them know anything about how to make American troops safe. John Kerry will continue to speak out about how to succeed in Iraq and protect brave American troops."

Consumer Reports calls air purifier ‘unhealthy’
Sharper Image's Ionic Breeze fails to clean air, magazine says
Updated: 12:46 p.m. ET April 5, 2005
SAN FRANCISCO - Consumer Reports magazine is taking renewed aim at a popular air purifier made by The Sharper Image two months after it fended off a libel lawsuit filed by the machine’s retailer.
The magazine reports in its latest issue hitting newsstands Tuesday that Sharper Image’s Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier and four other similar machines fail to significantly clean the air — but also release potentially unhealthy levels of ozone.
Religious Cleansing
The failure of Marxism to penetrate western civilization historically is attributed to the influence of it's Judeo-Christian heritage. Hence the antipathy of the Left to religion in general, and Christianity and Judaism in particular.
Individual integrity, particularly at the spiritual level, is at the heart of classical western liberalism and western civilization. And it’s individual integrity that the neo-liberal ideology of Soros and the new Democrat party seeks to expunge, to make way for their transformation of America into their own vision.
